AUDIO EDITING, IN YOUR OWN WORDS
A prompt-based audio editor that starts with what you want
You do not need to learn a timeline to make a recording shorter, clearer or easier to listen to. Upload your audio, say what should change, then listen.
For people looking for a ChatGPT audio editor or a ChatGPT MP3 editor, GPTAudioEditor offers a focused workflow for changing an existing recording. You can edit voice notes, podcast excerpts, music clips and other audio without installing a desktop editor. It is an independent product with its own audio credits.
1. Add your recording
Drop a file into the workspace or choose Upload audio. Common audio inputs include MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, FLAC, OGG, Opus, AIFF, WMA and WebM. Use a recording under 100 MB and 20 minutes; browser memory can impose a lower practical limit.
2. Say what you want changed
“Make my voice clearer and more even in volume. Keep it natural.”
Or ask for an exact cut, a gentler ending or shorter pauses. The assistant turns your request into supported edits. It can use timing and quiet ranges without hearing your audio, or you can choose to send a short listening preview. A request that needs an unsupported tool gets an explanation.
3. Listen and make it yours
Switch between Original and Edited, return to an earlier version, and send a follow-up prompt. Choose a download format when you are happy with the sound. Recent edits stay on this device; download your result before clearing browser data.
Find the right edit for your audio
Before you start
Can I edit audio by typing a prompt?
Yes. Upload an audio file, describe a supported change, and listen to the edited result. Try everyday instructions such as “make my voice clearer” or “fade out the last two seconds.” Exact cuts work best with timestamps.
Which audio formats can I edit?
Supported inputs include MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, FLAC, OGG, Opus, AIFF, WMA and WebM, where decodable. Downloads include MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, FLAC, OGG, Opus and AIFF. Protected or damaged files are not supported.
Is this the official ChatGPT audio editor?
No. GPTAudioEditor is an independent product. The prompt-editing assistant uses selected models through OpenRouter. It is not affiliated with OpenAI or ChatGPT.
Is my audio uploaded?
Audio editing, playback and export run on your device. By default the assistant receives your request, timing and detected silence ranges. If you enable the listening preview, up to 30 seconds of audio is sent to the AI provider through our server.
Can it generate music or clone a voice?
No. It edits an existing recording using cuts, fades, volume, EQ, compression, steady-noise reduction, speed and reverse. It does not generate replacement speech or separate stems.
